I’ve been stalking so many blogs recently and came across this super cool feature idea – a unique spin on an arguably overused ‘get to know me’ tag using coffee.
So mugs at the ready, it’s time to divulge in some much-needed coffee chat.
If we were having coffee: I would tell you that I didn’t like coffee until very recently. It seems to be a rite of passage into the newsroom, to arrive at 8:42 in the morning buzzed off your tits on your third cup. I would say that I never get a buzz from coffee, just a nice caramel taste when I treat myself to a Starbucks. I would also say that I have actually given up coffee and any drink other than water for Lent, so you must be pretty darn special for me to break this promise (that and I’ve been at breaking point for the last two weeks).
If we were having coffee: I would tell you that I do in fact like pineapple on pizza. My favourite pizza as a kid was definitely a classic Hawiann.
If we were having coffee: I would tell you that I’m missing my mum – she left for Australia at the start of the month to care for a friend, but I’m missing her much more than I thought I would. I’ve been living on microwave meals and pot noodles for the last two weeks – I’m desperate for a home-cooked roast and far too incompetent to make one myself.
If we were having coffee: I would tell you that yes, I am absolutely loving my job. Every day brings with it new challenges, new people, and a new drive to succeed even more than I already have. I’ve made inspiring and innovative friends
If we were having coffee: I would tell you that I am really quite tired. I have to leave my house at 6:55am every morning, travel on two buses and a train and walk for 15 minutes to be in work for 9am. Eight hours later when my shift ends, I have to make the journey all over again. I am very, very tired.
If we were having coffee: I would tell you that I don’t know what on earth I’m gonna do when September comes. University? Another job? Sit and cry for three months straight? Who knows!
If we were having coffee: I would tell you all about my travel ambitions. I want to head out to Australia in the next year to visit my brother – I haven’t seen him in almost a year. I also want to explore New Zealand – my fascination with hobbits and dwarves has made me OBSESSED.
And in the time it would take me to extricate all that info, my lunch break would more than likely be over – so on that note, I’m gonna head.
